A home that stands proud on a corner block is transformed one job at a time

MACQUARIE HOME Renovation and deck extension

On a corner block, a home architecturally designed in the ‘70s boasts unique features with tall angled ceilings and striking timber panelling throughout. This recently completed home renovation combined classic details with modern design. The homeowners were committed to the process and outcomes, adding projects along the way. The result of this completed project is a home that stands proud and is a contemporary family space set with timeless details in the established Macquarie suburb.

A family who enjoy entertaining and time together wanted to utilise the space available outside. The original deck was removed entirely, making room for a reconfigured design and new materials. Featuring a timber staircase with balustrading and framed by large sliding doors, the home now connects to a functional space where the family can retreat to cook, entertain and unwind.

Inside, a well-considered mix of modern finishes brought a new level of style and sophistication to the home. Using a simple monotone colour palette, the walls were coated with fresh paint, and the floors were treated to new carpet.

The bathroom and ensuite combined sleek black fixtures with timber vanities to create the modern and luxurious finish that the client wanted. As continuity was an important aspect of the renovation, the same tiles were seamlessly used from floor to ceiling between both bathrooms.

Completed with aluminium double glazed windows and sliding doors, this ageing home on a corner block was transformed into a contemporary home.
